Ministry of Education proposes new calendar for Baccalaureate and National Assessment

In order to prepare for the 2027 Baccalaureate exam, high school students will start in the spring with the simulation of written tests. They will take the simulation in Romanian on March 22, followed by the mandatory profile test on March 23, the elective test on March 24 and the mother tongue on March 25. The results will be communicated on April 9.

The skills tests will be scheduled for April 12-23. Between April 12-14, students will take the oral communication language skills test and between April 14 and 16, the mother tongue skills test will take place.

Between April 19-21, candidates will take the language skills test in an international language and between April 21 and 23, they will take the digital skills test.

The written tests of the 2027 national Baccalaureate exam are scheduled between June 14 and 18, starting with Romanian on June 14, the mandatory profile test on June 15, the elective test on June 17 and the mother tongue on June 18.

The initial results will be displayed on June 23. Students will be able to view their work and submit appeals until June 25, with the final results to be published on July 1, 2027.

In addition, the Ministry proposes that students completing the gymnasium cycle take the National Assessment between June 22-25, 2027.

The Ministry claims that the change in calendar is proposed considering climate change and extreme temperatures that may occur during the summer.

In 2026, the mandatory profile test and the elective test were postponed due to a Code Red heat wave.

Another argument is the need to identify a solution that allows candidates to enroll in higher education on time, in situations where the presentation of the Baccalaureate diploma is required for admission.
