Lazurca got 20 votes in favor and one against.
Romania's Foreign Minister Theodor Baconschi said late January the Romanian authorities proposed diplomat Lazurca for Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, adding he is confident Moldova would accept him. On the same day, Moldovan interim President accepted Romania's proposed ambassador.
In April 2009, Moldova rejected Romania's proposed ambassador Mihnea Constantinescu, after expelling the previous ambassador, Filip Teodorescu, on April 7 on the backdrop of anticommunist protests that took a violent turn in the Moldovan capital.
