"According to a draft law developed these days in Iraq, the five countries that were basically invited to remain with the USA in Iraq in the near future will have a very well set up agenda that will lead up to late May and with the possibility for complete retreat from Iraq by July," Melescanu said.

"In the draft document we received it says that May 31 and July 31 will be the date of our final withdrawal," Melescanu added.

He went on saying that, from his perspective, the Romanian army is not an occupational force in Iraq.
