2025 is the year when several regions of Romania were connected by high-speed roads, and the target for 2026 is 250 new kilometers, according to CNAIR head Cristian Pistol.

U.S. constructor Bechtel has made several design and execution errors at the Transylvania Motorway, which triggered landslides on a surface of 36 kilometers on the motorway, Romania’s roads authority CNADNR said Thursday.

Romania will allocate next year some EUR450 million for the Transylvania Motorway, to link central city of Brasov to western Bors, despite assurance from U.S. constructor Bechtel that it can complete works worth up to EUR550 million, people familiar with the matter told MEDIAFAX Thursday.

Potential problems with the construction of Transylvania Motorway, which connects central Romanian Brasov to western Bors, should be linked to U.S. constructor Bechtel, as the Romanian authorities have done their part of the deal, economy and finance Minister Varujan Vosganian said Thursday.
