Competition Council Clears Takeover Of Fidelis Energy’s Client Portfolio By RWE Energie

The antitrust watchdog assessed the economic concentration operation in terms of its compatibility with the normal competitive environment and found it poses no significant obstacles in terms of actual competition on the Romanian market or a substantial part of it, mainly by creating or consolidating a dominant position.

RWE Energie SRL is directly controlled by the company Budapesti Elektromos Muvek Nyrt and is part of RWE group, active on European electricity and natural gas supply markets. RWE Group is European leader in the energy sector, being active in producing, transporting and selling electricity and natural gas.

In Romania, RWE focused on non-household electricity customers, considering that its natural gas supply portfolio is reduced.

Fidelis operates on the Romanian electricity market, as a power supplier, as well as on the natural gas market.
