One billion RON to buy 12 new metro trains

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced on Wednesday that 12 new electric subway trains will be purchased to run on the capital’s Metro Line 4 and later on Line 6.

According to the Prime Minister, the 12 new electric metro trains will be acquired as part of a project worth over 1 billion RON.

The financing will come from European funds.

The trains will be introduced on Metro Line 4, Gara de Nord–Străuleşti, and later on the future Line 6, 1 Mai–Otopeni.
