Romania Registers A Total 164 AH1N1 Flu Cases – ECDC

The number of infections with the AH1N1 influenza virus registered in Romania reached 164, as 21 new cases were confirmed Thursday and Friday, according to the European Center for Disease Control (ECDC).

According to the latest ECDC report on the AH1N1 flu pandemic, 2,403 new cases were reported Thursday and fridy, most of which in Germany (738), where the total number of cases reached 6,062 and the United Kingdom (705), reaching un total 11,864 cases.

New cases were also reported over the past two days in Italy (357), Greece (210), the Netherlands (153), Norway (54), Switzerland (39), Portugal (28), Austria (22), Sweden (14), Poland (12), Denmark, Lithuania, Malta (7 each), Czech Republic (6), Iceland, Slovakia, Slovenia (5 each), Hungary (4), Finland (2), Estonia, Latvia (one case each).

Of the 31 EU and EFTA countries, 30 reported a total 26,424 confirmed AH1N1 flu cases since the virus appeared, including 39 deaths recorded in the U.K. (30), Spain (6), Hungary, France and Belgium (one case each).
