French Carmaker Renault Reports 2.1% Hike In Sales In 2007

The net profit of French carmaker Renault lowered by 7.6% in 2007, to EUR2.73 billion, and worldwide sales rose 2.1%, to 2.48 million units, mainly due to Logan model, the company said Thursday.

French Carmaker Renault Reports 2.1% Hike In Sales In 2007

The French Group’s turnover reached EUR40.6 billion in 2007, up 1.8% on the year.
 
The weight of the car division in the Group’s turnover was up 1.6 % on the year in 2007, reaching EUR38.67 billion.
 
The weight of France and European markets in the Group’s turnover dropped 2.6 %, while the weight of all other regions rose 3.1 % and boosted the 2007 turnover.
 
Renault’s operating margin was up 27.4% in 2007, reaching EUR1.3 billion, namely, 3.3 % of its turnover, compared with 2.6 % in 2006. For 2008, the target was set at 4.5%.
