Voronin said those who organized the violent protests in Chisinau were not interested in the outcome of parliamentary elections held on April 5 and their alleged rigging, but sought to take advantage of the moment to organize a "colored revolution".

"The same scenario as in Belgrade, Tbilisi, Bishkek and Kiev. Here, at the entrance, we photographed a Yugoslav with documents of a North-America institution. On April 7, there were nine people from Serbia directing the events, as well as agents of security services in Romania,” Voronin said.

"We have everything on video and we can identify the faces of all the beasts that attacked the police. We will arrest them and put them on trial. There was robbery (...). Police found furniture from the Parliament in 18 homes,” Voronin added.

Thousands of people protested in Chisinau against the outcome of parliamentary elections won by incumbent communists, an election protesters and the opposition said was rigged. The demonstrations turned violent and culminated in the devastation of the presidency and parliament headquarters.

The Moldovan Constitutional Court, at the request of president Voronin, ordered Sunday a recount of the ballots.
