The average rate of vacant jobs in Romania stood at 2.06% in 2007, up 0.28 percentage points on the year, the country’s statistical Institute, or INS, said Tuesday.

The most vacancies were registered in public administration (6.76%) and healthcare and social assistance (5.94%), the INS said.

The least vacancies were registered in the extracting industry (0.42%) and utility works (0.52%).

Compared to 2006, annual job vacancy rates were higher in most economic activities, expect real estate (down 0.25 percentage points), other collective, social and personal services (down 0.19 percentage points), trade (down 0.09 points), transport, storage and communication (down 0.04 points).
