Romania’s Dec Net Avg Salary Up 12.9% On Mo To RON1,266

Romania net average wages in December 2007 rose 12.9% on the month to 1,266 lei, the National Institute for Statistics said Tuesday.

In real terms in December, net average salary was up 112.2% on the month.

In December, brokers saw the biggest wages, of RON3,791, followed by brokers with airline employees RON3,127. Employees in wood processing industry were at the opposite pole with RON651.

November net average salary in agriculture was RON881 or 110.1% higher on the year. Net salaries in the industrial field averaged RON1148 in December, up 111.1% on the year.

At the end of December, the consumer price index rose to 6.57% on the year.
