Nemirschi said the Green House program will be implemented within the next couple of weeks.

Speaking at a meeting with local authorities in Bistrita-Nasaud, Nemirschi said he had blocked the program’s implementation in January for “objective reasons,” but declined to explain further.

However, Nemirschi said the new version of the Green House program will mostly target local administrations, which will be able to equip with ecologic systems both blocks of flats and patrimony objectives.

In addition, the new version eliminates accreditation requirements for companies that want to supply ecologic energy equipment trough the program.

“Out of 1,490 companies interested in the program, only 357 have received validation. We have decided to eliminate that requirement,” Nemirschi said.

Under the Green House program, the equipment purchased will be 90% subsidized, provided people who want to install alternative energy production systems agree to buy from companies accepted by the ministry.

The new version has a strong social component, as its beneficiaries will be mainly schools, hospitals, nursing homes and ownerships’ associations.

The government decreased the incentive to 310 million lei (EUR1-RON4.1189) from the RON520 million initial fund cap.
