Romania’s June Net Salary Down 0.4% On Month To RON1.422

Romania's net average salary fell 0.4% on the month in June to 1,422 lei (EUR1=RON4.2371), but was still up 3.1% compared with the same month a year earlier, the National Statistics Institute said Wednesday.

In nominal terms, the salary was RON6 lower compared with RON1,428 in May.

The gross wages fell 0.6% on the month to RON1,951 in June.

The greatest decreases in net wages were registered in financial intermediation, by 9%, in activities connected to financial intermediation, between 6% and 8%, and in the tobacco industry, water transportation, public administration and the production and supply of energy, between 4% and 6%, the institute said.
