Romania’s Steaua Gets EUR30,000 Bonus To Beat Seville in Champions League

The financer of Romania’s football team Steaua, Gigi Becali, told MEDIAFAX Monday he will give a EUR30,000 bonus to each player if the team wins the match against Seville in the fourth leg of group H of Champions League.

Becali had promised a EUR30,000 bonus to win against Seville before the away match, but the Bucharest team was defeated 2-1.

Becali said he is still confident the team can get a good result in Wednesday’s match, even if Steaua was defeated by Poli Timisoara in the local championship.

"I have hope all the way, I’m not giving up this fight. Champions League is different, players have different motivations. Well, Seville will be quite motivated too. They beat Real Madrid, and if we beat them, the bigger our victory," Becali said.

The match Steaua – Seville will take place in Bucharest Wednesday evening at 09.45 p.m. (local time) and can be watched live on ProTV.
