The second round of elections is to take place June 15.

Prime Minister Calin Tariceanu and interior minister Cristian David said candidates may register March 31 - April 22, and the electoral campaign will last one month, starting May 2.

Asked whether the government would make any changes if the law introducing the uninominal voting system takes effect, David said local elections would be organized under the current legal frame.

The government decided last week to organize the first round of local elections on June 1, official sources told MEDIAFAX at that time. The information was confirmed by culture minister Adrian Iorgulescu, who added the second round would be held on June 15.
