"I have no intention to resign. If the opposition wishes to overthrow the Government, it can submit a no-confidence motion in Parliament ," Tariceanu said.
Romanian Social Democratic Party president Mircea Geoana told the members of the party’s Executive Committee that his meeting with Tariceanu and the hypothesis of early elections came as reaction to rumors of an alleged plan of president Traian Basescu’s to resign before the Parliament elections.
