Romanian Prime Minister To Meet With European Commission President

Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dancila will attend a meeting with the president of the European Commission, Jean Claude Juncker, in Brussels on Wednesday, which will be followed by a common press conference.

According to her official schedule, the Romanian chief of cabinet is due to meet EU Council secretary-general Jeppe Tranholm-Mikkelsen at 11.00 local time, before meeting with Juncker at 12.45. The press conference is scheduled for 15.30.

A Romanian Government delegation will also attend a work meal with the members of the College of Commissioners during the day.

The visit comes in the context of Romania’s upcoming EU Council presidency, due to begin in January, and of critics received from top EU institutions on the country’s recent judicial amendments.
