Romanian Timisoara FC Fine Annulled By Court Of Arbitration For Sports

“The six point penalization of SC Fotbal Club Timisoara SA, decided by the FIFA Disciplinary Commission on September 3, 2008, and implemented by the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) through a decision on September 4, 2008, is annulled,” the statement on the TAS site said.

In early September 2008, FIFA asked FRF to fine Timisoara FC six points, for disobeying a TAS decision of April 25, 2008, forbidding the club to use the color violet in its official logo. SC FC Timisoara SA and SC FC Politehnica Timisoara SA have been in dispute for some time over the latter club’s record and symbols.

Initially, TAS was to announce its decision on June 5, but postponed the announcement for June 11.
