Sarin Gas Threat Reported For Bucharest International Airport And North Railway Station

Romanian special forces were checking both the "Henri Coanda" International Airport and the North Railway Station in Bucharest on Tuesday evening, after an individual who called the national emergency number claimed that he installed recipients containing sarin gas at both locations.

According the airport company, the call was recorded at 17.40 local time and led to the establishment of a crisis committee to verify the threat.

Special forces units were verifying both locations on Tuesday evening, but no threat had been identified as 19.30, approximately 110 minutes since the call was recorded.

Neither air traffic nor train traffic were interrupted or affected by the situation.
