US Soldier Shot With Rubber Bullets In SE Romania

One off-duty US soldier was shot with rubber bullets, Saturday morning, in a fight broken out between another three of his buddies had with a group of bikers in Romanian seaside resort Mamaia.

According to the chief of Mamaia police, Iulian Dode, the incident occurred Saturday morning ariound 01:00 local time, when several bikers walking down the Mamaia boardwalk bothered a group of US soldiers. The soldiers were not wearing uniforms , as they were on leave. It seems that, at one point, one of the soldiers was touched by one of the bikers and a fight broke out between the two groups.

During the fight, one of the bikers pulled out a rubber pellet gun, which he shot at random, injuring one of the soldiers.

The soldiers were taken to the hospital where they received medical attention. The wounds were superficial and they did not require hospitalization.

The three bikers were arrested shortly after the incident while the fourth, the alleged shooter, was apprehended several hours later.

The bikers are investigated with illegal possession of a non-lethal firearm, but the charges might be changed of the soldiers decide to file a complaint. The weapon was not yet found.
