Romanian ruling coalition leaders agreed on Monday to submit the Criminal and Criminal procedure Codes to debate in Parliament, without waiting for the Civil Code to be ready.

Romanian President Traian Basescu said Friday he assumed responsibility for the setting up of the current center-left ruling structure, but pointed out that the government would soon become a “clientele” majority unless it manages to reform Romania.

Romanian social-democrats said Theodor Stolojan’s decision to quit the cabinet and Emil Boc’s nomination for the premier office prove that the democrat liberals “tricked” them, stressing they are considering scrapping the protocol and regulation they signed with the democrat-liberals, social democrat sources said Monday.

Romanian democrat liberal leader Emil Boc said Wednesday after a meeting in Senate with social democrats that the two parties might create a Partnership for Romania and will meet Thursday to discuss the future governing program.
