President Klaus Iohannis' message for Romanians: We are in a full war

President Klaus Iohannis told Romanians that we are in full war for the preservation of the health of mankind and only together can we overcome the crisis.

The president's message:

"We are experiencing a crisis these days, which, just a few months ago, seemed unthinkable for the whole of humanity. I know that the lives of each of us have changed and that we are afraid every day for the health of our loved ones. In order to protect ourselves we have taken and will have to continue taking severe measures.

There are many uncertainties in this period, but there is certainty above all. Together and only together we will succeed! We, the Romanians, are a hard-tried people, but together we have overcome all the tragedies and we have been strengthened by countless challenges. We will do the same now!

It is immensely important that each of us follow exactly the rules imposed by the authorities! Protect yourself and your loved ones, keep the distance and if you meet each other, stop shaking hands and hugging, exposing yourself and exposing others to the danger of infection!

These days, when we are in full war for the preservation of the health of humanity, our heroes in the first line of defence are doctors and medical personnel. We owe it to them to strictly follow the recommendations, so that their tireless work is not in vain. It is vital to limit the spread of this dangerous virus in order to give physicians time to heal the infected.

I am deeply impressed by the surge of support that comes from all those who help doctors and hospitals and they are with their peers. When the community works together with the authorities, the whole nation wins!

Dear Romanians, be responsible! Every effort, no matter how small, is important to prevent the epidemic spread. Let us be supportive in these difficult times because it is up to us all to overcome the situation we are in", Klaus Iohannis, Romania's president, concluded.
