Romanian CFR Calatori Mulls Upgrading 46 Trains For RON509M

Romania’s state-owned passenger railway company CFR Calatori plans to upgrade 46 trains in the next four years, for an estimated contract value of 509.24 million lei (EUR1=RON3.5238), coming from state budget.

Thus, CFR Calatori will launch a bid in October. The contract will be developed between October 20, 2008 and October 19, 2012.

The participation guarantee is RON4.2 million and the bids can be filed by October 9.

CFR Calatori owns 3,500 coaches, most of them 20 years old.
