Romanian Telecom Unaffected By Intl Fin Crisis, To Grow By Up To 10% In ‘09– Comm Authority Head

The international financial crisis will not affect the Romanian telecom and related services market, that will register a growth rate of up to 10% in 2009, compared with over 10% this year, Liviu Nistoran, head of National Communication Authority, staid Wednesday.

"In 2008, the growth of communication and related services will exceed 10%. For next year, the market growth will be supported by the development of service segment in the Internet zone," Nistoran stated.

In October, Nistoran estimated the IT&C market, including telecom and postal services and infrastructure expenses, will reach EUR7 billion, compared with approximately EUR5 billion in 2007.
