Bucharest General Mayor Sacks City’s Head Architect

Bucharest general mayor Sorin Oprescu Thursday dismissed the city’s head architect Adrian Bold following the report submitted by the municipal discipline commission.

The commission proposed Thursday evening that Bold be dismissed after hearing him in connection with the intimations regarding the crimes he allegedly committed while in office.

Following the commission’s report regarding Bold’s activity, Oprescu signed the decision releasing Bold from office.

Sources close to the matter said the intimations target damages of nearly $300,000 Bold allegedly brought to the Bucharest mayoralty.

Bold filled this position in 1997 and ran the commission in charge with authorizing regional urban plans in capital city Bucharest.
