Central European Media Enterprises 9-Mo Revenues In Romania Dn 8.9%, To $109.17M

Central European Media Enterprises (CME) revenues in Romania decreased by 8.9% in the first nine months of the year, to $109.17 million and its OIBDA (Operating Income before Depreciation and Amortization) profit dropped 49%, to $19.59 million.

Central European Media Enterprises 9-Mo Revenues In Romania Dn 8.9%, To $109.17M

In the first nine months of 2009, CME's revenues in Romania hit $119.92 million and its OIBDA profit was of $38.82 million.

In the third quarter of 2010, the media group's revenues on the Romanian market dropped 19%, to $29.06 million, from $35.89 million in the same interval in 2009. CME's OIBDA profit in Romania in the July-September interval decreased to $4.32 million, from $9.79 million.

According to the group, at an international level, CME posted a 7.2% increase in revenues in the first nine months of the year, to $479.72 million, from $447.52 million, and a net profit attributable to CME Ltd. of $126.29 million, after losses amounting to $41.9 million in the same interval last year.

CME registered a 4.8% increase in revenues in the third quarter of 2010, to $134.35 million, from $128.23 million, and its net profit was of $3.41 million, from losses amounting to $21.55 million in July-September 2009.

On the broadcast segment, CME's revenues were up 1.9% in the first nine months of the year, to $449.55 million, from $440.96 million in the same period in 2009, while the OIBDA profit was down 16.2%, to $86.91 million, from $103.75 million.

In the third quarter of 2010, CME's revenues on the broadcast segment hit $123.54 million, down 1.9%, from $125.93 million in the same interval in 2009, while the group's OIBDA was up 3.6%, to $8.22 million, from $7.94 million.

On the Media Pro Entertainment segment, revenues increased by 42% in the first nine months of 2010, to $92.86 million, from $65.41 million. The segment reported OIBDA losses of $4 million.

Media Pro Entertainment's revenues in the third quarter of 2010 reached $26.51 million, up 42.7% from the level registered in the third quarter of 2009 ($18.57 million), and its OIBDA losses hit $2.18 million, from an OIBDA profit of $1.95 million in the third quarter of 2009.

CME's new media operations reported revenues of $7.06 million in the first nine months of the year, up 9.5% from $6.44 million in January-September, 2009, and OIBDA losses stood at $6.36 million, from $6.31 million in the same interval last year.

In the third quarter of 2010, revenues on the new media segment were down 8.4%, to $2.11 million, from $2.3 million, and operating losses were reduced to $1.5 million, from $3.5 million.
