European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, or EBRD, adopted new strategy for Romania, settling the priorities for the next three years in the private, electric power and infrastructure fields.

"EBRD will focus on the private companies sector, electric power and infrastructure to support production and help Romania maximize the advantage as EU-member state," the bank said in a statement.

EBRD mulls supporting local companies to improve competitiveness and speed up development.

The bank also aims to support the electric power field, mainly the upgrade of electric power networks and the infrastructure fields.

EBRD has invested EUR3.5 billion in 248 projects in Romania so far.
