Dense Fog On W Romania International Airport Grounds 12 Flights

Twelve flights due to take off or land on the international airport in Timisoara, western Romania, Wednesday morning, were delayed by 15 minutes up to nearly three hours, due to heavy fog in the runway area.

Timisoara airport spokesperson Nicoleta Trifan said the dense fog prompted pilots to delay a Wizz Air flight to Bergamo, adding 11 other flights due to land on the airport in Timisoara did not take off from the origin airports and are delayed by 15 up to 50 minutes.

Trifan stressed takeoffs in the upcoming hours will be affected because the airplanes that were to land on the airport in Timisoara were to take over passengers and head for other destinations.

Trifan added three flights to Vienna, Munich and Bucharest managed, however, to take off Wednesday morning, according to schedule.
