Depeche Mode Cancels Bucharest Show

Depeche Mode on Thursday said it cancelled a concert in Bucharest due for May 16 on their Sounds of the Universe tour, following further complications from singer Dave Gahan’s severe bout of gastroenteritis.

In addition, the band cancelled three more upcoming shows, in Bulgaria, Serbia and Croatia.

DM fans were advised to hold on to their tickets in attendance of official notice on rescheduled dates or final cancellation, according to a release on the band’s official website.

Lead singer Dave Gahan fell ill in his dressing room right before he was due onstage for a concert in Greek capital Athens on Tuesday.

“At this stage, Dave's primary concern is to return to full health and resume the tour as soon as possible,” a press release said.
