Elisabeta Lipa Takes Helm Of Romanian Rowing Federation

Romania’s former Olympic and world champion Elisabeta Lipa was elected president of the Romanian Rowing Federation within the General Meeting on Saturday at the "Sydney 2000" Olympic Center in Izvorani, near capital city Bucharest.

Lipa, who has filled the position of vice-president so far, won 30 votes, while Ioan Dospinescu, who has led the federation so far, won 18 votes.

Octavian Bellu, secretary of state with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, George Boroi, president of sports club CS Steaua, and Ioan Dobrescu, secretary general of the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee, also participated in the voting process.
