Final Court Ruling Finds Romanian Subway Strike Last Year Was Legal

The ruling is final and irrevocable.

Unionist said they will decide next week on future protest actions after the court turned its ruling in their favor.

Employees of state-owned subway company Metrorex went on a full-blown strike for two days in November claiming wage raises of 20% and a new collective work contract, as their old one had expired. The strike was suspended after a court ruled it illegal.

Early February, unionists again threatened to go on strike over this year's collective work contract and wage raises, this time of just 3.7%.
