Romania’s Central Election Office announced Tuesday the final result of the parliamentary election held Sunday and the country’s new Parliament will be formed of the social democrat and conservative alliance, democrat liberals, liberals, the Hungarian minority party and representatives of other national minorities.

Final Results: Four Parties And Minorities To Make Up Romanian Parliament

The Election Office rejected as ungrounded all appeals and requests for the annulment of votes.

For the Chamber of Deputies, the social democrats gained 2,279,449 votes, democrat liberals got 2,228,860 votes, liberals got 1,279,063 votes and the Hungarian party got 425,008 votes.

For the Senate, social democrats got 2,325,968 votes, democrat liberals got 2,312,358 votes, liberals got 1,291,029 votes and the Hungarian party got 440,449 votes.

Election Office spokesman Marian Muhulet said all candidates of national minorities obtained the threshold of at least 10% of the national voter quotient, namely 21,772.

National minorities to be represented in Parliament are the Rroma Party “Pro Europa”, the Democratic Forum of Germans in Romania, the Federation of the Jewish Community in Romania, the Democratic Union of Slovaks and Czechs in Romania, the Bulgarian Union in Banat Romania, the Union of Armenians in Romania, the Democratic Union of Muslim Turks in Romania, the Association of Macedonians in Romania, the Union of Serbs in Romania, the Association of Italians in Romania Ro.AS.IT, the Democratic Union of Turks in Romania, the Union of Ukrainians in Romania, the Community of Lipovan Russians in Romania, the Union of Croatians in Romania, the Greek Union in Romania , the Association of Albanians in Romania, the Union of Polish People in Romania and the Cultural Union of Rutens in Romania.

Romania’s far-right Greater Romania Party, the Christian Democrat New Generation Party, the Green Party, the People’s Party, the Romanian Socialist Party, the National Democratic Party and the European Romania Party failed to secure at least 5% of votes countrywide to get seats in the future Parliament.

Also, none of the independent candidates obtained a majority of votes in their respective constituencies.
