Romanian Jobless Rate Up To 8.36% In March

Romania's jobless rate rose to 8.36% in March, up from 8.3% a month earlier and well above a rate of 5.6% in the same period the previous year, the country’s employment agency ANOFM said Thursday.

It said some 3,000 men and women lost their jobs in March, bringing the total number of the unemployed to 765,285. Female unemployment stood at 7.43%.

The number of jobless claims was 462,289 in March, down from 468,863 the month before.
