Johannis Says No To Premiership If Romania’s Basescu Is Reelected

Although exit polls Sunday night showed social democrat Mircea Geoana in the lead, tables have turned as official vote counts in 95.40% of polling stations show Basescu is the winner, with 50.43 of the votes to Geoana's 49.57%.

"Exit poll results were within error margins. The people voted and the people are right. My future is clear, I will stay mayor. I don't know about the others," Johannis said Monday.

He added he excludes any possibility of being prime minister if Basescu is reelected and said he will decline any proposition to either head a future government or be a minister in the future government.
