Over 65,000 Romanian Public Servants On Go-Slow Strike

Over 65,000 public servants affiliated to the Sed Lex union went on go-slow strike for two hours Monday, demanding the immediate drafting of the government decision regarding the promotion of public servants, a unitary salary law and the negotiation of salary grids, union leader Vasile Marica said.

Marica told MEDIAFAX unionists will set the date for a warning strike and a general strike in the following days. Most likely, the strikes will take place end February, depending on the government’s response to unionists’ demands.
 
Unionists in local public administration, finance, labor, social security and statistics started the strike at 8.30 (local time) and will end the protest at 10.30 (local time).
