The leaders of the parties from the former governing coalition, Sorin Grindeanu, Ilie Bolojan, Dominic Fritz and Kelemen Hunor, are meeting with President Nicușor Dan at Cotroceni Palace on Tuesday for a new attempt to unblock the law on public sector salaries, a milestone assumed by the PNRR, political sources told G4Media.
The draft law is currently blocked by the PSD and some trade union organizations.
Romania must adopt the law by August 31. Otherwise, the country risks losing approximately 770 million euros in non-reimbursable funds provided for by the PNRR.
Tuesday’s meeting at Cotroceni Palace takes place in the context of the government crisis caused by the dismissal of the Bolojan Government by PSD and AUR.
