Record Attendance At Presidential National Day Reception

The Union Hall at the Cotroceni Palace, the usual scene for the receptions organized by the head of state, turned out to be to small for the some 900 guests invited and present at the event.

Guests include Mircea Geoana, Victor Ponta, Serban Mihailescu, Nicolae Vacaroiu, Ion Iliescu, Mihai Razvan Ungureanu, George Maior, Teodor Melescanu, Catalin Predoiu, Leonard Orban, Adriean Videanu, Vasile Blaga, Gheorghe Flutur, Radu Berceanu, Emil Constantinescu, Dan Ioan Popescu, Dumitru Dragomir, Marian Sarbu, Marian Oprisan, Theodor Stolojan, Ioan Vida, Lucian Bolcas, Patriarch Daniel, Elena Udrea.
 
The reception was also attended by representatives of various unions, journalists, representatives of cults, of the Romanian Army, the academic and artistic environment, as well as many businesspeople such as Peter Imre, Dorin Cocos and shareholders of football club Dinamo.
 
Notable absentees included Prime Minister Calin Tariceanu, the leader of the Greater Romania Party Corneliu Vadim Tudor and the leader of the Democratic Union of Magyars in Romania Marko Bela.
