„Government decisions are enough. The Cabinet has the right to issue government decisions,” Basescu said, adding that the referendum will „definitely” be held, in spite of opposition from the Parliament majority.

Romanian lawmakers Wednesday voted to disapprove President Traian Basescu’s letter calling for a national referendum on November 22, along with presidential elections, to downsize the Parliament to a single chamber and a maximum 300 MPs.
