Udrea said investments will top EUR2 billion and are likely to be finalized in 2012.
Udrea stressed that scarce funding will allow her ministry to upgrade only 500 kilometers of county roads this year, by using state budget funds.
According to Udrea, county roads will be upgraded depending on their economic or social significance or their connection with various landmarks. In addition, as some of these roads cross several counties, the auctions for upgrade works could be transferred from county councils into the ministry's authority.
