Romania Raises Over RON1B Selling 12-Year and 2-Year Bonds

Romania's finance ministry on Thursday raised a total 1.013 billion lei (EUR214.5 million) in two separate tenders, selling bonds maturing in September 2031 and in June 2021, central bank data showed.

The ministry sold RON713 million worth of September 2031 bonds, more than double its initial offer of RON300 million, at an average yield of 5.06%. Demand for the issue amounted to RON1.144 billion. The ministry last sold this issue in May at an average yield of 5.17%.

In a second tender, the ministry raised a planned RON300 million selling bonds maturing in June 2021 at an average yield of 3.64%. Demand amounted to RON354 million. Romania last sold this issue in August 2018 at an average yield of 4.44%.
