Romania Registers Fewest Infringement Cases In The EU-27 Bloc

Romania scored best in an EU ranking according to the number of infringement cases, with only 9 open infringement procedures, the European Commission said in a statement Wednesday.

The EU average is of 48 open infringement cases, with Italy scoring the highest number – 127 open procedures, the Commission said in its latest Internal Market Scoreboard.

It said that ten member states, including Romania, achieved their best results so far in implementing agreed Internal Market rules into national law.

Bulgaria is in first position with a transposition deficit of 0%, while Slovakia, Romania, Germany, Latvia and Lithuania are no more than 10 directives away from that perfect score, the statement noted.
