Romania Slightly Revises Up Year-End Budget Revenue

Romania's Government will slightly revise up its year-end estimate for budget revenues by 52.8 million lei (EUR1=RON4.296) to RON165.49 billion, according to the draft of the second budget revision for 2010.

Overall expenditure is envisaged at around RON200.52 billion, higher by a similar RON52.8 million than previously predicted, the document, obtained by MEDIAFAX Thursday, noted.

The authorities maintained unchanged the budget deficit projection to 6.8% of the gross domestic product in 2010, lower from 7.2% of GDP a year earlier.

In January to September, Romanian budget gap narrowed to 4.56% of GDP, from 5.2% of GDP in the corresponding period of 2009.

The Government is due to approve the year’s second budget revision on November 22. The first budget revision was made in August.
