Romanian carmaker Dacia launched Thursday on the local market the Duster SUV, a model that can be ordered through dealerships at a starting price of EUR10,500.

"Duster will consolidate Dacia's international expansion and will allow us to bring in new clients, drawn by its robust and modern aspect, but also by the price to quality ratio," said Jerome Olive, general manager of the company.

The launch was also attended by former Formula 1 world champion Alain Prost, and Romanian national football team coach Razvan Lucescu.

Dacia Duster can be purchased in Romania at prices between EUR10,500 and EUR15,600, VAT included, depending on the version.

The Duster model will also be launched in spring this year in Europe, Turkey, Africa and Maghreb (Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Libya and Mauritania). As of June, Dacia Duster will also be available, under the Renault brand, in Ukraine, the Middle East (Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt) and several countries in Africa.
