The designer was put on trial began on November 6, 2009, on charges of pimping the employees of his erotic massage parlor, one of whom was a minor. According to article 329 of Romania’s Criminal Code, defendants found guilty of exploiting minors for prostitution can spend between five and 18 years in prison.
On August 13, 2009, the Court of Sector 1 placed Parvan into custody under charges of pimping. He was released in November 2009, but the Court forbade him to leave the country.
The Court’s ruling said that Parvan would engage in sexual intercourse with his young masseuses in order to „train” them and that he would lure them with careers in fashion. The Court added that Parvan’s parlor had been illegally set up in a building in downtown capital Bucharest and ruled that placing the designer into custody would help annihilate his prostitution ring.
Prosecutors with the Court of Sector 1 began investigating Parvan’s case after the building’s owner filed a complaint against the designer.
According to investigators, four of Parvan’s employees allegedly received RON500 per sex act and would then give part of their fee to the designer.
