Romanian President Basescu To Visit Dacia Factory, Receive New Duster Model

Romania’s President Traian Basescu will visit the Dacia factory in Mioveni on Thursday and become the first owner of the carmaker’s new SUV, the Duster, Dacia announced.

Clients who pre-ordered the new model will acquire it after the "Open Doors" event on April 18, when the cars will be displayed in showrooms.

Dacia dealers received around 400 orders for the Duster SUV by the end of March. Most customers opted for the 4x4 version.

The Duster was officially launched on March 18 and may be ordered from any Dacia dealer, for a price between EUR10,500 and EUR15,600, VAT included.

Basescu will then travel to Prague, the Czech Republic, to meet with U.S. President Barack Obama and Central and Eastern European leaders.
