Romanian President To Condemn Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact

Romanian president Traian Basescu announced Friday on the public radio station that he will condemn Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact to the Parliament, as he did with the communist regime.

Regarding recent developments in Romania’s relations with neighboring Republic of Moldova, Basescu said Romania has no objectives regarding Moldovan president Vladimir Voronin or the communist Party, but regarding the 4.5 million Romanians living there.

He added many European politicians understand that the families of citizens in the two countries are separated by the river Prut, in virtue of the Ribbentrop-Molotov, which “has nothing in common with reality any longer”.
