Romanian Railroad Traffic Resumed After Warning Strike

Over 50,000 railroad employees were on a two-hour warning strike Wednesday morning.

The general manager of the passenger rail company, CFR Calatori, Alexandru Noaptes, said the strike affected 416 trains and some 10,000 passengers.

Employees demand a wage increase of 18% and the government only offered 10% in two tranches, one in April and the other in October.

Transport minister Ludovic Orban said Tuesday he finds the protest immoral and unfair to passengers.
