The Romanian Senate in plenary session Wednesday adopted a proposal of the Conservative Party for the grant of additional aid to families whose incomes are lower than the net average salary and to single-parent families with the same low income.

Romanian Senate OKs Additional Aid To Low-Income Families

The proposal to amend Government Emergency Ordinance no.105/2003 was adopted 36 to 19 votes and 14 abstentions.
 
The proposal had been disapproved by the Senate’s labor committee. 
 
Additional family allowance is granted monthly to families whose members earn a net monthly wage below the minimum wage.
 
According to the draft, the additional allowance is RON50 for families with one child, RON60 for families with two children, RON65 for families with three children and RON70 for families with four or more children.
 
The second type of aid is granted monthly to single-parent families whose members earn a net monthly wage below the minimum wage.
 
The support allowance is RON70 for families with one child, RON80 for families with two children, RON85 for families with three children and RON90 for families with four or more children.
 
The draft law is pending debate in the Chamber of Deputies, which is the decision factor.
