Earlier Tuesday, the Senate's education committee adopted again its report on the country's education bill, only in the presence of opposition lawmakers, and kept the same articles included in the report rejected Monday by the standing office, which said the committee had not been authorized to work during the weekend.
The report adopted Tuesday morning is the same with the report previously submitted with the standing bureau. Thus, the committee maintained the elimination from the education bill of the provision setting that history and geography will be taught in national minorities' languages in secondary schools and high schools with minority language teaching.
The report also keeps the provision setting that education will be compulsory for 11 years and one year of pre-school, as well as four years of primary and secondary school.
