Romanian Solidarity Contribution Calculated On Public Sector Pensions, Salaries

The solidarity contribution for the support of people with low income will be collected from individuals with state pensions and/or salaries, calculated at 90% of the difference between the total amount and a ceiling of RON6,700, but without considering income from other sources.

If the individual obtains salary from several public institutions, then the institution where the individual has the core activity will calculate the contribution, according to a government document obtained by MEDIAFAX.

The individual is compelled to inform the salary payer regarding the existence of the other sources of income and/or pensions they obtain from a public institution , and the level of the income obtained from each source, through the submission of a self statement in view of calculating the solidarity contribution.
